  • MP PROMOTES NATIONAL B&B WEEK DURING DARTMOOR VISIT TO CHAGFORD

    Mel Stride

CENTRAL DEVON MP Mel Stride has paid a visit to a B&B in Chagford ahead of National B&B Week. The annual event began in 2018 and aims to raise the profile of the independent accommodation sector and get as many guests as possible booking and staying in B&Bs during the week to give businesses a boost. Mr Stride visited Pam Stevenson who runs Rock Cottage B&B in New Street in Chagford - a self-contained, one-bedroom cottage just off the square close to great places to eat and shop.

    Mr Stride said:

“It was great to meet Pam, see her beautiful B&B, and discuss the role of B&Bs in the tourism industry here in Devon. They are essential to the economies of towns like Chagford, bringing people into the town to shop and visit local attractions. If you fancy a break, why not book a night or two in a B&B next week?!”

There are over 20,000 B&Bs in the UK, generating over £2 billion annually for the UK economy. For more information and exclusive offers for National B&B Week visit www.bandbweek.com.
