  • MP URGES CONSTITUENTS TO LISTEN TO PUBLIC HEALTH ENGLAND ADVICE ON CORONAVIRUS

    Mel Stride

CENTRAL DEVON MP Mel Stride is urging residents in his constituency to listen to advice from Public Health England and stay at home if they are experiencing coronavirus symptoms – either a high temperature or a new, continuous cough. He also repeated medical advice not to go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital but if you are experiencing symptoms then to visit NHS 111 online at: https://111.nhs.uk/covid-19/ and only call 111 if you cannot get help online.

    Mr Stride said:

“We all need to be taking the medical advice from Public Health England and the NHS seriously, and to self-isolate if we are experiencing symptoms. Perfectly healthy people may find the symptoms to be very mild and feel able to resume their regular activities, but they might be spreading coronavirus to others who are most vulnerable, such as those with weaker immune systems and the elderly.”
