CENTRAL DEVON MP Mel Stride visited Crediton Parish Church for the town’s Christmas Tree Festival. The annual event features more than 70 illuminated and decorated trees ranging from 3 feet to over 25 feet filling the church every December. 4,000 visitors are estimated to attend the free event which exhibits displays from various groups within the town including local schools, scouts and swimming clubs.

Mr Stride, who was in Crediton visiting businesses affected by a spate of break-ins, said:

“This year’s Christmas Tree festival was clearly another great success. I understand there were more than a dozen groups and organisations who couldn’t get a tree this year and are already signed up for 2018, showing the demand for this wonderful event. Crediton is a vibrant community and this couldn’t be exhibited any better than at Holy Cross this weekend in this beautiful church.”
