  • MP ‘VERY PROUD’ TO ISSUE AWARDS TO NEWLY QUALIFIED APPRENTICES IN OKEHAMPTON

    Mel Stride

CENTRAL DEVON MP Mel Stride was in Okehampton today visiting Moor Training – a specialist training provider specialising in Plumbing and Heating. Established in April 2016, the company has a new purpose-built workshop, and is delivering Plumbing and Heating courses, apprenticeships and ACS gas assessments to engineers across the South West. Mr Stride’s visit coincided with National Apprenticeship Week 2018 which began on 4th March and aims to raise awareness about apprenticeships and celebrate the huge growth in apprenticeships seen over the last decade.

During his visit Mr Stride met with Centre Manager Aimee Worrall and took part in an awards ceremony, handing out certificates to newly qualified apprentices. Speaking after the ceremony Mr Stride said:

“Apprenticeships are an excellent way to gain the skills and experience needed to embark on a successful career while earning and I was very proud to play a role in today’s ceremony, recognising the hard-work put in by the apprentices and their trainers, in gaining valuable new qualifications. I strongly recommend anyone in the Okehampton area looking at plumbing apprenticeships to swing by and have a look at what Moor Training can offer.”

    Ms Worrall added:

“We were delighted Mel was able to take part in today’s ceremony and to show him around our training facilities. For more information about Moor Training and the apprenticeship courses offered please visit www.moortraining.co.uk or contact us on 01837 659357.”
