  • MP SUPPORTS CREDITON CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL AT HOLY CROSS CHURCH

    Mel Stride

CENTRAL DEVON MP Mel Stride visited Crediton Parish Church on Saturday for the town’s Christmas Tree Festival. The annual event features more than 70 illuminated and decorated trees ranging from 3 feet to over 25 feet filling the church every December. 4,000 visitors are estimated to attend the free event which exhibits displays from various groups within the town including local schools, scouts and swimming clubs.

Mr Stride, who was given a tour of the exhibition by organiser Stella Stephens, said:

“Crediton is a vibrant community and this couldn’t be exhibited any better than at Holy Cross this weekend in this beautiful church. Stella should be very proud of organising such a successful event which has not only showcased Crediton’s wide range of community groups and organisations but also raised important proceeds towards the upkeep of the church.”
