  • SPECIAL MP VISIT FOR THREE DEVON POST OFFICES AS THE CHRISTMAS COUNTDOWN CONTINUES

    As the countdown for Christmas continues, Central Devon MP and Treasury Minister Mel Stride popped into Okehampton, Chagford and Ashburton Post Offices today to recognise the valuable role the branches will play in providing vital services to customers within his constituency during the festive season.
    With the big day fast approaching the post office teams were delighted to welcome their special visitor, it gave them the ideal opportunity to showcase the wide range of Post Office services available for customers this Christmas.

    Mel said: “It was fantastic to meet the teams at Chagford and Okehampton post offices and to catch up with Stuart and his team in Ashburton. They provide such a vital service to their communities and I wish them every success for the future and especially during this busy period.”
    Along with the wide range of Post Office products and services on offer, at both Post Offices this festive season it’s never been easier for people to access cash for Christmas shopping. The branches, along with all 11,500 Post Office branches across the country, offers everyday banking services for customers of all the main UK banks including cash withdrawals, deposits and balance enquiries.

    If this Christmas customers are intending to shop from their sofa, then their local branch can help too as Post Office branches, including Okehampton, Chagford and Ashburton Post Offices, offer an easy way for shoppers to collect and return their online Christmas shopping. Finally and to add Christmas cheer to cards and gifts there are also Royal Mail’s special Christmas stamps available within all Post Office branches.

    Branch Manager at Chagford, Jessica Cookson was thrilled with the special Christmas visit from her local MP, she commented: “The Christmas countdown is well underway here at Chagford Post Office and we were delighted that Mel took time out from his busy schedule to pop in and recognise the valuable service we provide every day to the local community.”

    Postmaster at Okehampton, Hafiz Gul was pleased to host the visit from his local MP, he commented: “I was delighted to welcome Mel to my branch and we really appreciated the visit. We play a crucial role in providing services to the community throughout the year and it was nice to be recognised for the valuable service we offer.”
