Mel Stride MP welcomed the Google Digital Garage high street tour to Okehampton last week. The initiative provides free digital skills training to local businesses, helping them make the most of the digital economy. Speaking after the event Mel said:
"Having a strong online and social media presence can make a big difference and hopefully some of our small businesses in and around Okehampton will have benefited from the training today."
Google Digital Garage is a Grow with Google programme that provides free training and tools to help businesses in the UK. It has visited more than 500 locations across the UK and trained more than 300,000 people. The training sessions are free to attend and cover subjects such as digital marketing, CV building and social media.
