Crediton Rotary Club have today taken part in a county-wide rotary campaign to save the South West’s trees by organising for thirty to be planted in Morchard Bishop. The trees were provided by the Woodland Trust and planted at Bishop’s Wood in land that is accessible and open to the public daily.
Local MP Mel Stride was invited to plant one of the first and also in attendance were President of the Crediton Rotary Club Carole Webb, Chairman of Morchard Bishop Parish Council Keith Davies and School Governor and Garden Club member Christine Davies. Children from Morchard Bishop Primary School also came along to support the event and help with the planting.
Speaking after the event Mel said:
“I was very pleased to be invited to take part in such a special event. It is vital that we preserve our environment for future generations and this national Rotary project should be applauded.”
