PUPILS at Landscore Primary School in Crediton received a special visit from local MP Mel Stride today during Children’s Mental Health Week. During his visit Mel heard from Headteacher Debbie Main how the previous day children were invited to wear an item of clothing inside out to symbolise how sometimes people may look different on the outside to how they feel inside.
Mel said:
“Landscore Primary is a great school – it has a real community atmosphere and strong leadership focused on ensuring pupils both enjoy themselves and do well academically. I was very interested to hear how the school had engaged with Children’s Mental Health Week, raising awareness about an important but sometimes difficult subject.”
Mel’s visit to Landscore Primary was his second in the past three years and he also took the opportunity to thank the pupils who took part in his annual competition to design his 2019 Christmas card. For more information about the school visit www.landscoreprimary.co.uk.
