Mel visited the annual Ashburton and Buckfastleigh Rotary Club art exhibition today held in the Guest Hall of Buckfast Abbey. The art exhibition features work from local artists and aims to raise money for charities both in the area and further afield. This year the exhibition is supporting End Polio Now, Shelterbox, Torbay Holiday Helpers Network and other local rotary charities.
Mel said: “This is another great exhibition organised by the Ashburton and Buckfastleigh Rotary Club. The work they do raising money for charity is highly commendable and I hope that they can continue it with even greater success in the future.”
Phil Vogel and Diana Fitch of the Ashburton and Buckfastleigh Rotary Club said: “We are very pleased with how well the exhibition is going this year and would like to thank everyone involved for their help. Hopefully we will be able to raise a significant amount of money for the charities that we have chosen to support.”
The art exhibition opened on the 31st of July and closes on the 14th of August with doors being open from 10am to 4:30pm daily. Entrance is free and over 300 works of art are on show from approximately 90 artists. All of the paintings and a wide selection of cards are for sale in order to support the charities.
