Mel Stride visited the Rapid Relief Team this week to hear about the work they are doing supporting charities and emergency services organisations across Devon.
Rapid Relief Team was setup by the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church and offers catering assistance and support to charities and emergency services.
Mel Stride, MP for Central Devon and Secretary of State for Department of Work and Pensions,said: “I was really impressed with the vehicle the Rapid Relief Team use to deliver their cateringsupport.
“It was also fascinating to hear about what they are doing locally supporting organisations such as Dartmoor Rescue.”
Stan Wallis, Rapid Relief Regional Team Leader, said: “It was great to discuss our work with Central Devon MP Mel Stride and show him our support vehicle.
“Whilst the Rapid Relief Team deliver disaster relief all over the world, we are extremely proud of the role we are playing providing food and support services to charities, emergency servicesand other community organisations here in Devon.”
