Mel Stride MP welcomed Dunsford Community Academy to Westminster yesterday, where pupils took a behind-the-scenes tour of Parliament and visited landmarks around the parliamentary estate.
Following the tour, Mr Stride met the group and answered questions about Parliament, the role of MPs and his new position as Leader of the House of Commons.
Mel said:
“It was a pleasure to welcome such a bright and engaged group of pupils to Westminster and to give them the chance to learn first-hand about what goes on in Parliament. Instilling an interest in politics in an early age is hugely important and hopefully today’s visit will have helped with that. I look forward to keeping in touch with the school in the future.”
Located in the Teign Valley, Dunsford Community Academy is one of 43 primary schools in Mr Stride’s constituency. For more visit www.dunsford-lap.co.uk.
