CENTRAL DEVON MP Mel Stride has paid a visit to a B&B in Chagford ahead of National B&B Week which starts on March 16th. The annual event began in 2018 and aims to raise the profile of the independent accommodation sector and get as many guests as possible booking and staying in B&Bs during the week to give businesses a boost. Mr Stride visited Pam Stevenson who runs Rock Cottage B&B in New Street in Chagford - a self-contained, one-bedroom cottage just off the square close to great places to eat and shop.
Mr Stride said:
“It was great to meet Pam, see her beautiful B&B, and discuss the role of B&Bs in the tourism industry here in Devon. They are essential to the economies of towns like Chagford, bringing people into the town to shop and visit local attractions. If you fancy a break, why not book a night or two in a B&B next week?!”
There are over 20,000 B&Bs in the UK, generating over £2 billion annually for the UK economy. For more information and exclusive offers for National B&B Week visit www.bandbweek.com.
