Yeoford Primary School pupil Ellis (6) received a prize from local MP Mel Stride this week for winning the competition to design his 2023 Christmas card.
Mel organises an annual competition for all the 43 primary schools in Central Devon to design his Christmas card, which goes out to more than a thousand friends, family, colleagues and local community groups.
Headteacher Christian Martin, said: “It was really special for Ellis to receive his prize personally from Mel for winning the Christmas card design competition.
“He was so pleased with his art set, which I’m sure he’ll put to great use!”
During his visit Mel also had the opportunity to join Year 6 pupils for one of their lessons and answer questions about being a Member of Parliament.
Mel Stride, Central Devon MP and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, said: “It was great to congratulate Ellis in person and present him with his prize for his winning design.”
Mel also presented prizes this week to runners up Ella (10) from Hatherleigh Community Primary School and Connie (8) from Chudleigh Knighton Primary School.
