Central Devon MP Mel Stride paid a visit to BikeShed’s Crediton branch this week to meet with owner, Mike Sanders, in celebration of his 30th year in business.
BikeShed is an independently run cycle store with four locations across Devon, selling a wide range of bikes and accessories and offering repairs and services in their on-site workshops.
Mike Sanders started BikeShed back in 1994 and has been involved in the day-to-day running of the business ever since. BikeShed began in Crediton but has grown significantly as a business and now also has two stores in Exeter and one in Barnstaple.
With a team of industry experts, some of whom have over two decades of experience, and a focus on serving the local community, BikeShed has managed to build up an excellent reputation across Devon during its 30 years in operation.
A range of topics were discussed during the visit, including the Cycle to Work Scheme and some of the challenges facing high street businesses in an age of internet shopping.
Mel Stride, MP for Central Devon and Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, said: “It was great to visit BikeShed as they mark their 30th anniversary. Mike has done a fantastic job of establishing a loyal customer base over the years, and it was particularly useful to hear his feedback on the Cyle to Work Scheme.”
