Mel Stride MP was given a tour of Finlake Holiday Park near Chudleigh today as its multi-million pound transformation gets underway. The Haulfryn Group, who own the holiday park, are investing £23million in 100 new luxury lodges, £8 million in a new water park, gym and leisure complex, £4 million in upgrading the existing leisure buildings into a new sauna and spa centre and doubling the restaurant and bar space. Mr Stride was shown around by Haulfryn Group CEO Bobby McGhee.
Speaking after his visit Mel said:
"This is a hugely significant investment for Devon – not only in relation to the facilities that will be available for all to enjoy, but with jobs being created to construct and run the new state-of-the-art park. Finlake is exemplary of what Devon has to offer; stunning landscaped areas, a focus on the family and a strong sense of community. As well as transforming Finlake into a premier holiday destination the new site will create around 100 jobs during the construction phase and 80 new permanent jobs once completed. Bringing 15,000 more visitors to the region each year should also have a positive knock on effect on other local businesses and tourist attractions as well.”
Finlake is located just outside Chudleigh on the road to Chudleigh Knighton. For more information visit www.finlake.co.uk.
