Easterbrook Farm, a residential care home in Exbourne, has today marked the 10th anniversary of its opening. The centre specialises in helping those with learning difficulties gain new skills and experiences participating in life on a working farm. The clients share houses in the farm’s grounds, and are cared for by a team of key workers whilst participating in normal day to day tasks alongside outdoor activities. Planting a tree in the gardens of the farm, Central Devon MP Mel Stride congratulated and thanked all the members of staff that had made the decade long service possible.
Mel said: “Easterbrook Farm provides a very high quality of care and a range of engaging activities for every resident. Helping people with learning difficulties socialise and enjoy such a great range of tasks is excellent and I highly commend Easterbook Farm. I hope to see it continuing to flourish over the next ten years.”
Mel previously visited in 2011 and was equally impressed by the facilities and proactive nature of the staff. The farm includes three buildings containing en-suite bedrooms for residents, 29 acres of woodland and a large selection of outbuildings including polytunnels and covered growing areas.
