Mel Stride MP has met with the North Tawton Engagement Group to discuss the future of the village’s medical practice. The group plans to consult with the residents of North Tawton to decide what the medical services in the town should look like in the longer term. Earlier this year The Bow Medical Group stepped in to provide services in the village after the existing surgery came under threat, but the long-term future of the practice is still uncertain.
Following the meeting, Mel said: “Finding a reliable solution to North Tawton’s healthcare provision for the long term is vital. I entirely support the Engagement Group’s plans for a close engagement with the local community and I will of course continue to pay very close attention to this issue and continue to support the group.”
North Tawton’s Surgery was taken over by the Bow Medical Practice in January this year following the Wallingbrook Health Group’s decision not to continue their contract in North Tawton.
