Residents in the Teign Valley have a high-quality new takeaway service on their doorstep serving fish and chips from 6pm to 8.30pm every Friday evening. Teign Valley Takeaway, located on the Gidley's Meadow Business Park in Christow, was launched by M Welsh Catering Services on Friday, and offers delicious beer battered cod using ale from neighbouring unit Black Tor Brewery and fresh fish supplied by 'Fishes' of Wardrew Road, Exeter. On the day of the launch Mike met with local MP Mel Stride and Teignbridge Councillor Terry Tume to discuss the challenges faced by catering businesses and to promote the new venture.
Mike explained:
“Covid-19 event restrictions have hit us hard, with over 60 weddings and other events being cancelled. We have had to adapt our business quickly to survive, setting up a home delivery service for restaurant quality food during lockdown. This is still available from Thursday to Sunday each week but as there is no static hot takeaway service available locally we have launched Teign Valley Takeaway. Customers can pre-order and collect from our 5* hygiene rated commercial kitchen.”
Mel added:
“It was great to meet Mike and I hope Teign Valley Takeaway is a big success. I would urge local residents to come and enjoy a high-quality meal while supporting an important local business.”
Teign Valley Takeaway is open every Friday night from 6pm - 8.30pm. It offers a no contact collection service whereby payment is made in advance and the food is brought out and put into the back of a vehicle without the need for customers to exit their car.
